Y.E.S. (Youth Empowered to Serve) is the Youth Ministry of First Baptist Church in Clayton NJ. Our goal is to reach teens grades 7-12 with the TRUTH of the gospel and to show them how to walk with God. Below you will find descriptions of the different things we offer and do as well as great links and cool sites to check out - don't forget to take our latest poll.

JAM - This is our weekly group meeting for Jr. High Students (grades 7-9). JAM meets on Friday nights - doors open at 6:30 pm with activities beginning at 7:00. The night includes: Hang-out time (basketball, 4-square, pool, ping-pong, foosball, x-box, air hockey), games, giveaways, a look into God's word, singing, food, and more. The night ends at 10:00 pm (because its a weekend night). We'd love for you to join us!

OASIS - Our weekly meeting for High School students (grades 9-12). We meet on Wednesday nights and follow the same format as above (JAM) except there is less of an emphasis on games (we still play some....like volleyball, air hockey, and scandanavian ping pong!), and we end the night at 9:30 pm. Come check it out!

CrossTraining - God's word (the Bible) is our road map for how to live (it's like an instruction manual). Small groups are made up of 5-10 teens, which allows us to take a deeper look into God's word than we are able to do with the larger group. This allows for more discussion, questions, you name it. So, if you would like to learn more about what God has for you, join a CrossTraining group....there's one for everyone.  CrossTraining groups for grades 6-8 meet on Wedneday nights and groups for grades 9-12 meet on Sunday nights.  Pastor Ike can help you get connected to the right CrossTraining group for you!  What are you waiting for? 
Missions/service projects - We are regularly serving God in our community and beyond -  from local homeless ministry to handing out bag lunches in Philly, & helping local families fix up their homes.  Every summer we take at least one mission trip.  We have gone to South Africa, Belize, Jamaica, Grenada, West Virginia, Tennessee, Baltimore, and Philadelphia.  Plans are underway for both a jr. high and a sr. high mission trip for the summer of 2008.  Stay tuned - they're going to be great!
Activities - We do a ton of them. From all-nighters to snow camp to beach trips, concerts, snow boarding/skiing, surfing, theme parks, whitewater rafting, pro sports games, and more!  Look below to see what's coming up in the next couple months.
